Process Engineer
Process Engineer (Sedalia, MO). Responsible for the analysis of various processes and design modifications to reduce scrap, improve efficiency, increase productivity, improve quality, address safety and reduce maintenance for new passenger car and light truck vehicle wheel program developments. Oversee steel rim roll process for steel wheels conducting time studies to improve process flow and manpower utilization. Coordinate or support the implementation of new processes and provide Technical Support to the Production Lines. Coordinate Process Changes, Try outs and Process Capability Improvements for steel rim roll process for steel wheels meeting APQP and IATF 16949 requirements. Coordinate Cost Reduction, Lean Manufacturing Projects and SixSigma Projects. Elaborate Engineering Standard Work and provide trainings. Define Process Parameters and Specifications. Coordinate and prepare flowcharts, utilize FMEA (Failure Modes Effects Analysis) processes and control plans, create operating instructions and control and registration documentation for engineering programs. 5-10% travel to Mexico and Brazil. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or closely related field, and at least 3 years of experience in engineering in a manufacturing or automotive industry defining and validating new passenger car and light truck steel wheel engineering specifications. Experience must include developing manufacturing and assembly processes, analyzing processes to reduce scrap and improve efficiency, coordinating cost reduction initiatives, working with engineering change requests, FMEA, quality tools (PPAP, APQP), and quality standards (IATF 16949).
