Process Engineer (Foundry)
Your future role
- Develop and validate casting recipes for all new part numbers, ensure correct robot programs, proper mold preparation/installation, and provide technical support including SCADA, AI, and ML applications.
- Coordinate mold inspections and design updates with Quality and Design Engineering, and align with Central Engineering specialists on customer requests and mold upgrades.
- Support RFQs by reviewing technical documentation, assessing feasibility, estimating cycle time and fallout, and highlighting casting‑related risks.
- Participate in wheel and mold design reviews to recommend improvements from the casting process perspective.
- Plan and execute sampling for new products and molds, prepare sampling plans, verify new molds, generate recipes, conduct sampling, and maintain complete technical documentation.
- Evaluate part performance (mechanical properties, cycle time, fallout, etc.) and support downstream departments like Machining and Painting during sampling issues.
- Support pre‑series activities, share process documentation, review performance vs. targets, recommend adjustments, and assist in PPAP preparation.
- Ensure proper product/process validation and handover, compiling all required process data and documentation.
- Lead ECR activities by performing feasibility checks, preparing technical documents, conducting sampling loops, ensuring procedure compliance, and implementing approved changes with Quality and Production.
- Drive foundry process improvements and standardization, propose innovations, support fallout reduction, participate in problem‑solving and global engineering meetings
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 8 - 10 years of experience in aluminium casting process
- SCADA/ machine learning, Industry 4.0
- CTP Program Development
- Casting simulations, results interpretation and defining the solutions
- Ability to work in Matrix Organization
- Strong analytical and quantitative competencies
- Understands complex concepts and the relationships between issues or problems
- Effectively communicates across organization and is confident in interacting with senior leadership team
- Possesses intellectual agility; readily accepts the challenges of unfamiliar tasks
