To support our team in Königswinter (Colgone/Bonn/Koblenz area), Germany, we are looking for a

 

Welding Engineer (m/f/d)

 

 

Your future role:

 

Globally:

  • Develops welding techniques, procedures, and application of welding equipment to problems involving fabrication of metals, utilizing knowledge of production specifications, properties and characteristics of metals metal alloys, and engineering principles
  • Contacts personnel of other agencies, engineering personnel, or clients to exchange ideas, information, or offer technical advice concerning welding matters
  • Provides training sessions and knowledge exchange
  • Participates in local / cross regional expert committee

 

 

Locally for our Steel plant in Königswinter:

  • Responsible welding supervisor for the plant
  • Conducts research and development investigations to develop & test new fabrication processes and procedures, improve existing or develop new welding equipment, develop new or modify current welding methods, techniques and procedures, discover new patterns of welding phenomena, or to correlate substantiate hypotheses
  • Prepares technical reports as result of research & development, preventive maintenance investigations
  • Establishes welding procedures to guide production and welding personnel relating to specification restrictions, material processes, pre- post-heating requirements which involve use of complex alloys, unusual fabrication methods, welding of critical joints, and complex post heating requirements
  • Evaluates new developments in welding field for possible application to current welding problems or production processes
  • Supports Purchasing Department in evaluation of potential new welding material suppliers
  • Performs experimental welding in local welding laboratory and external suppliers to evaluate new equipment, techniques and materials

 

 

Your profile:

  • Bachelor´s Degree in Engineering, or Welding Engineering
  • Fluent German and English skills are mandatory
  • 3 years of experience as Welding Engineer or similar position
  • Deep knowledge of welding methods, techniques and procedures, metals characteristics, properties
  • Focus on details
  • Hands-on
  • Results oriented
